Biography of Authors Presenting at Accio 2008
Aida Patient
Aida Patient is currently an instructor in the Department of English at Mount Royal College in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She specializes in women's writing and the discourse of natural philosophy and the new science in the early modern period as part of her doctoral research at the University of Alberta. She has worked in the past on representations of race in early modern English literature, and is currently investigating the professional positioning of midwifery within the fluctuating discourse of natural knowledge (and its applications) in early modern England.
Kori Street
Kori Street, PhD, is currently an instructor and coordinator of the history program in the Department of Humanities at Mount Royal College in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where she teaches military history. She began her career in history at the University of Guelph while in the Canadian military. Those two interests converged during her graduate work, first at OISE/UofT and then at University of Victoria. Dr. Street's current research interests focus on the teaching of history, particularly using Problem Based Learning, for which she received a research grant from Samford University. Most recently she completed a major web project for the Great Unsolved Mysteries in Canadian History Project and is currently working on a site focusing on Holocaust survivors in Calgary.
