Creative Writing Competition

The Accio delegates votes for the Creative Writing Competition have been counted. And the winner is Andrea Schutz with The Boy's Story. Congratulations! This will now be published in the proceedings of Accio 2005.

The runner-up entries were:

RULES

The rules are simple and straightforward (no entry form required):

1) All work must be original, unpublished, children's fiction.

2) Length: 1,500 words maximum (submissions exceeding this length will be disqualified).

3) Closing Date: 15 July 2005, 11:59pm (BST).

4) Category: Children's/ Cross over genre. Any sub category is acceptable but it must be suitable for "family" reading: for readers aged 12 and over.

5) Entries should be sent in the body of the email itself to: competition@accio.org.uk.

6) All entrants must be members of Accio i.e. either attending the conference itself or Supporting members.

7) The winners and runner-up will be chosen by the delegates at the Conference and will be published on the website. Each entry will be allocated a number and the entrants will remain anonymous until the winner is declared.

8) We would ask all entries to bear the following disclaimer: Disclaimer to read, this fictional story is the property of (insert name) any resemblance it bears to to any other person,(living or dead) character, incident or other known literary works, screen play or Television programme World Wide is coincidental.

9) All stories must contain the word "summoning" and "reading" / "Reading."

10) The Accio committee reserves the right not to submit stories to the delegates which it deems not to fit these rules. Any such decision will be treated as final. However, it shall not be responsible for or liable for any of the stories which remain the property of the writer.
