David Rafer

David Rafer B.A.(Hons) Ph.D. graduated from De Montfort University in 2003. He specialised in myth and fantasy literature, presenting work on C.S. Lewis and Renaissance Cosmology before his studies culminated in a doctoral thesis on ‘Mythic Structures in the Works of C.S. Lewis’. A varied employment history has included electronic engineering, I.T. support and teaching undergraduate research skills. Since completing full-time study he has continued to write reviews in magazines and on the internet and to develop freelance writing and research. A keen Doctor Who fan, he has written a chapter for The Doctor Who Critical Reader (MUP, Autumn 2005) developed from a conference paper on mythic identity presented at Manchester University in 2004. His interests include all aspects of children’s fantasy.
