Biography of Author Presenting at Accio 2005

Amy O. Miller

Amy O. Miller is a graduate of Smith College, Northampton, Massachusetts, the largest women’s college in the United States, and received her diploma as a Cerified Cantor from Hebrew Union College-School of Sacred Music, New York, New York (a Jewish cantor is the person in a synagogue who chants the worship service and leads any congregational singing of the prayers as well as functioning as clergy and performing pastoral duties). Her younger daughter Roberta brought Harry home from college, and Cantor Miller has been one of Harry’s most devoted fans ever since. The world of Hogwarts and Griffindor has sustained her through a kidney transplant (her husband Stephen was her donor), an almost-fatal blood disease, 3 hernia surgeries, and 2 fevers of unknown origin, all since 2002. She has presented a Jewish viewpoint (not the Jewish viewpoint) of the Harry Potter novels at Nimbus 2003 and ConventionAlley 2004. Her daughters Jacqueline and Roberta and her husband Stephen are thanked and loved for their patience and are not jealous of Harry at all.
